The Pupsicle by Woof – Mom approved?

Pupsicle with mold and dental mix

Spoiler alert – I wanted to love this product, and at first, I did.

The Pupsicle by Woof. It has so much promise: A disc that contains the mess of treats, allows limited access to keep dogs entertained for longer than five minutes, and gives the option to purchase premade treats or create and freeze your own. And if you have a super chewer, there is a black version that holds up to puppies going through the alligator phase.

Then Woof introduced their Doggy Dental Mix – just stir into water, pour into the silicone mold, and freeze. Voila! A frozen pop that helps prevent the dental issues that plague doxies.

Charlotte loved the taste, and I loved that she would lick for 20-30 minutes, giving her mouth an extended dental treatment. Compared to teeth brushing attempts, this was a no-brainer! I’d found my answer to dental challenges.

Sadly, my enthusiasm did not last. The Pupsicle is designed with a screw-off bottom that allows insertion of the “pops” and easy cleaning. Unfortunately, both the green and black Pupsicles started to become more and more difficult to open. I tried everything — opening under cold and hot water, unscrewing with pliers, brusing the “threads” with olive oil, and spraying them with cooking spray. Nothing worked, and I now have leftover mix and useless Pupsicle dispensers.

If you still want to give the Pupsicle a try, order the small for your mini dachshund. A starter bundle retails for $59. Or save your money, and get your pup comfortable with a toothbrush.
